LIFELINE NOURISH GAZA

FEED WITHOUT BORDERS
A siege-adapted, community-powered nutrition programme for mothers, infants, and children
Campaign Progress
A 6 Week Siege-Adapted Programme
Severe Acute Malnutrition (SAM) is surging in Gaza.
We saw this firsthand through Lifeline Meds Gaza Campaign— where most paediatric cases were linked to malnutrition. Children would stabilise in hospital, but rapidly decline after discharge.
We realised: Food and formula alone are not enough.
We need a full system of:
Education for parents and staff
Nutrition plans tailored to each child
Safe refeeding protocols
Relapse prevention and early warning signs
Screening and Interventions:

1. Pregnant Women (3rd Trimester)
Identified Problem:
Malnourished women are giving birth to underweight, fragile babies. Many don’t receive any antenatal care.
Proposed Solution:
Ultrasound scan, vitamins, hygiene kit, nutrition education, breastfeeding prep.

4. Children 1–5 Years
Identified Problem:
Vulnerable to wasting and chronic undernutrition. Difficult to treat if they deteriorate.
Proposed Solution:
Nutrition support, safe food packs, family-level feeding strategy, malnutrition treatment.
Collaborative Action
This campaign is powered by a growing alliance of Gazan field teams, UK-based health professionals, and community-led networks across the world. We are midwives, doctors, nutritionists, lactation consultants, organisers, and everyday people — all refusing to stand by while babies starve.
But we cannot do this alone. To reach Gaza’s most vulnerable mothers and children, we need your help.

2. Mothers & Babies Under 6 Months
Identified Problem:
Formula is unsafe or unavailable due to unsterile conditions. Breastfeeding is declining due to lack of privacy, low milk supply, preference to formula milk due to various myths.
Proposed Solution:
The safest food is breastmilk. We aim to build a feeding tent support, relactation counselling, wet-nursing where safe, hygiene, nutritional support.

3. Babies 6–12 Months
Identified Problem:
This is the danger zone for malnutrition. They are weaning and no safe foods/formula available.
Proposed Solution:
MUAC Screening, food-based RUTF alternatives, hygiene guidance, emergency food support. Refeeding Syndrome Protocol
